Mission: Influence of Khorne
1,950 Orks vs Tyranids (+150)
Deployment: Hammer and Anvil
Day Fight
Hex: Crimsonfall
The Ork Warlord had brought two large groups of his faithful boyz.
The terrain had limited where they could start.
Only one group could get along side the wagons, the other group stayed behind.
However; terrain was not going to stop the Kommandos, they infiltrated the Tyranid position.
Tyranids tried to hold back and hide as much as possible, with several units in reserve.
The Orks started up their wagons of war and pushed forward.
The wagon firepower was devastating but after all the dust had settled, although many units were damaged, no unit had been wiped out.
The Tyranids had place one of each vital command structure at the back of the battlefield
and needed to repel the ten Kommandos now threatening their lines.
There was a gun fight with the Termanants and fifty shots were launched at the Kommandos
but they survived.
The Kommandos fought back and assaulted the Temagants, despite being outnumbered five to one. This formed a shield to protect the advancing Ork Boyz who shot and killed the Psychic Zoanthrope who was aiding the Termagants. The Kommandos eventually fell, leaving the Orks without any Elite forces.
Ork Kopters also arrived at this time and wounded the Tyranid Warlord - The Swarmlord.
This prevented the Swarmlord from aiding the Temagants with his physical might
but not his psychic power.
Meanwhile; the Ork Bikers were making their way down the opposite flank.
They took heavy fire from the Flying Hive Tyrant,
dodged an emerging Mawloc
and got into a fight with the Beast of Crimsonfall - a Haruspex.
Tyranid Warriors joined The Swarmlord in the fight against the Kopters and destroyed them at the same time the Haruspex killed the Bikers. This left the Orks without a Fast Attack support.
A Tyranid ambush in the Ork backfield failed.
The Ork Warlord killed a Tyrgon Prime and The Meganobs took care of the outflanking Tervigon.
This did leave the Meganobs out of position and the Ork BigMek had died in the process.
The Flying Hive Tyrant swooped into position with a Harpy and landed behind the WarBoss and tried a third psychic Warp Lance against him. This time it was not denied, it did not miss and the WarBoss died.
The advancing Boyz got into a fight with The Swarmlord, a Tyrand Guard, a Mawloc AND The Beast of Crimsonfall which they must have enjoyed (being Orks) but were not going to win.

Following the unprecedented defeat to the Tyrannid swarm there was a full and frank discussion within the ruling classes and in the best 'cut and thrust' tradition of Ork politics Warlord Skanza has been replaced by Warlord Gutrakka. Skanza has 'retired' to spend more time with his gods... in the afterlife! In his inaugural speech a humble Gutrakka thanked his trustly choppa for his unexpected promotion and added to his boyz "Nuf of dis poncin' around 'n' tactical stuff; more speed, more gunz, more deff! Kill em, Kill 'em all!Waaagh!! Waaaaagh!!!'
