Skanza is da right hand of Mork! He unleashed da living embodiment of Mork on da run away brigade on Volistad and da stompa had quite an effect. Dey seemed to be enjoying demselves blasting away at the behemoth and mostly dey managed to stop da big gunz from gettin' busy and even destroyed the gatlin' gun - we woz really pissed, didn't get a chance to use it. Unfortunately whilst all da run away brigade blasted at da stompa, da rest of da boyz woz having a wail of a time; blew up da tank, shot up da walkaz, and blasted der sweet little plane right outa da air - it looked so pretty as it ploughed into da earth... By den da boyz were nicely warmed up and limber which was good, unless you woz Eldar den it woz bad. Walkaz got snipped, bikez got trashed and der boss got dead.
WAAAAGH!

Sounds like a close (bloody) game.
Also if Orks had 150 then Eldar should have had a 50 point handicap.

The Eldar blasted away at the Stompa but only managed to get 'crew stunned' results most of the time, only managed to knock off 1 structure point. I forgot to roll my warlord traits but Abraxas had one (didn't do him any good though!). I think the Eldar got hypnotised by the glory of the Stompa and didn't notice that the rest of the Orkz were giving them a good pasting elsewhere.

DeleteFarseer Abraxas passed the baton onto Karandras for this one, as the Eldar had foreseen the problems with the warp down on Volistad. The vitriolic rantings of the abomination rarely focus on fact as the stats from the battle show. Perhaps the Eldar scored in Primary Objective 1 and 2 by accident?
ReplyDeleteSimon used the wrong set of rules for his Stompa. The updated rules are very different and would have made a big difference to the battle.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the right set of rules? I was using the super heavy damage table in the Apocalypse book (page 93, Additional Rules).
DeleteI'm afraid you used the out-dated Apocalypse Rule Book. There is a new version we have been using and it has changed the way Super-Heavies accumulate damage. Also the points cost is different.
