Apocalypse

Armies: Eldar v Dark Angels

Mission: Standard

Points: 8,000 per army

Planet: Neutral

With five super-heavy walkers, three super-heavy tanks, eight fliers and almost 60 psychic points, this was always going to be an epic encounter. And so it was!

Fought over two days, with the first two turns taking six hours, it was generally agreed that the limit had been reached! The battle was not a slugfest however, with bikes, jet-bikes, infantry and walkers all playing an important part in the outcome of the conflict. The sheer scale of the battlefield and size of the armies enabled skirmishes to be played out on separate fronts between well matched units, each then influencing the overall encounter.

Ultimately, the difference between the two armies was the number of Dark Angel super-heavies. But for all the wrong reasons! By the time the Dark Angel commander withdrew his remaining units from the battlefield at the second interval, five of the Eldar's nine points had come from destroying super-heavies, while all six points secured by the Dark Angels had been through claiming objectives.

Final Score: Eldar 9 (4 objectives, 5 super-heavies), Dark Angels 6 (6 objectives)

For the Harvest!
