and would like to propose the following (Amended) schedule for the summer:
The 1st battle in July should be a 750 point (no handicap) Battle Forged friendly.
2v2 (Eldar and Orks vs Dark Angels and Tyranids)
(Or 3v3 if Necrons are available - with a double helping of Tyranids)
Mission: Purge the Alien (modified)
Then halve the current handicap
but continue 50 point handicaps for losses as before.
The rest of July 1,000 points, no restriction on force organisation, random missions.
In August the points limit goes up to 1,250
The 1st battle in September to be a repeat of the July friendly
but at 1,500 points (no handicaps), no restriction on force organisation.
This ends the summer introduction to the new edition.
Nb. The restrictions on limiting army selection have been removed,
per the comments received.
Any questions ?
I think the lower points limits make sense, but I don't like the idea of having a fixed core - it limits tactical options, and reduces the fun of planning before fights against different opponents. Sticking to battle forged has the same effect - and it isn't too complicated to work out what can score in an unbound versus battle forged contest.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the good doctor on this. I will also be breaking in a new codex so I would like to be able to experiment (new codex is ordered and should arrive next week!)
ReplyDeleteI have removed the limitations on army selection,
ReplyDeleteother then the very first battle must use the Combined Arms Detachment
(The Standard One: Min 1HQ/2Troops).
