Five Zones: Tyranids vs Walkers

Mission: The Big Fight

Battlefield: Dawn of War
Points: 1500 (+100 handicap for Walkers)
All Night Fight

Tyranids came with five objective secured 'and still they come' troops (not that any died), and three flyers. Walkers had no sky fire and, although they did kill two flyers - these two flyers had landed.

The most effective unit that the Tyranids used were the 'and still they come' Lictors who never failed to come back (four killed, four returned).

Both Tyranids and Walkers forgot about the 'Sidestep' rule which would have given Tyranids some mobility. The Walkers were under too much pressure to have made much use of the rule.

One unit of note for the Walkers was their basic eight armour boltgun troop guys. Who killed two Lictors with Hammer of Wrath, took twelve twin-linked shots from a Flying Hive Tyrant which only killed one walker and then two of them got into assault with a charging Flying Hive Tyrant which, in the first turn, ended in a draw - the walkers bringing the Tyrant down to one wound.

Battle ended on turn six with the Walkers needing to remove two Tyranid objective secured units from objectives but with only the firepower to clear one.

Final Score
Tyranids 12 Walkers 8
