Fixed February - F8

The Hive Tyrant could feel the hive mind,
It was strong with memories of the recent Dark Angels battle on F8.
This time it would be different, this time the Tyranids would be victorious.

He surveyed the Dark Angels position.
So few to defend so many objectives.
The fast would decide this battle.

It would soon be light so the time to strike was now.
However; without warning the Dark Angels has seized the moment
What seemed like every gun in their force targeted the Tyranid Zoanthrope
(who would become known as the Bane of Angels)
Despite the ferocious attack he lived on.
The Dark Angels Death Wing Terminators struck deep into Tyranid territory.
Their firepower added to the attacks on the Bane of Angels.
But still he lived on.

The myriad of Tyranid swarms came alive and moving out of their cover they formed a wall of bodies in front of the Gargantuan Barbed Heirodule. Their abundant firepower, week as it was, found flaws in half of the Terminators Armour. The Terminators charged the frail Tyranid termigants. However; the psychic might of the Bane of Angels reduced their power, creating a barrier of bodies to slow the terminators progress.

Now protected from the remaining Terminators the Barbed Heirodule, a God of War, trained his lethal firepower on one of the Dark Angels Tanks. A luck shot broke through the almost invulnerable protection of their power field generator, causing it to explode.

Daylight brought a reduction of protection and the arrival of the Legion Fire Raptor Gun Ship. It is not without warrant that fear precedes its coming. It tore through many bodies but the Zoanthrope lived on.

Aware of the limited maneuverability of the dreaded flyer the Tyranid broods used all available cover, either running underneath its path or hiding behind walls or deep in the Iron Bark Forest. This reduced its target options. One target remained clear but still the Bane of Angels lived on.

The Flying Hive Tyrant had used the commotion in the center ground to try to sneak up the side-lines. The Dark Angels with their command of an Anti-Air Quad Gun and two skyfire nexus points tried to make life hard for the Tyrant but he would feel no pain from their firepower.  His speed proved too great and he landed behind the Dark Angel Warlord. The warlord died. The power field generator died. Then the final unprotected tank died.

Invasion, Predation, Consumption, Assimilation.

Game called at end of round 4
Tyranids win
The Scouring
1750 Points Tyranids 12 (Objectives 10, Slay The Warlord, Line Breaker)
1700 Points Dark Angels 1 (Line Breaker)

Although Tyranids made a ridiculous number of saves the Flyer proved to be not as bad in play as it is on paper.
