Dark Angels vs Tyranids
Points:
Tyranids 3,535 - 1,765 (+100) = 1,770 Points remaining
Imperial ???
Warned in advance that the Tyranid horde had massed its most hideous warrior-bugs for an all out assault on the Terran defenders, the Angels deployed their primary resource - the fearsome Stormsword tank known as Luther's Folly. Ably supported by a team of Devastators (that took up residence in a fortified tower on the city's perimeter, under the guidance of a pair of Chapter Librarians), the armoured defender awaited the insect assault.
As expected, this proved harrowing in the extreme. Taking up an apparently concealed position in a small forest some distance away from the Angels, the bugs sought to bombard their enemies into submission. They also deployed a terrifying aerial threat - a pair of monstrous flying creatures that sought to destroy Luther's Folly from above.
The Angels, however, had got wind of what they were up against.
As soon as the Tyranid flyers arrived, they were assailed by a flight of Imperial Vendettas and a Stormraven - together with the flakk ready Devastators. The monstrous airborne unit was outranged and outgunned; it was soon consigned to oblivion.
Furthermore, and aware of the Insect's love of cover, the Angels had deployed the one weapon that they knew would negate the Bug's strategem - the fearsome siege cannon. This reduced the forest in which the Tyranids were hiding to matchwood, and exacted a heavy toll on the attackers. The bugs maintained a heavy rate of fire, and eventually knocked Luther's folly out of the fight - but the Angel's aerial support proved too much for the Tyranids, who were eventually slaughtered to a man...
Dark Angels automatic victory - all enemy units slain.
